Products Description
The PRI-SAFETY Cartridge-Operated Mining Vehicle Fire Suppression System is designed for heavy equipment operating in mines, quarries, construction sites and other demanding environments.
It provides automatic fire detection and fixed agent discharge for selected high-risk areas, including engine compartments, hydraulic systems, fuel lines and electrical enclosures.
The system uses a separate expellant gas cartridge to pressurize the fire agent cylinder during activation. Dry chemical and ColdFire agent configurations are available, with single-cylinder or multi-cylinder designs for different machine sizes.
Key Components
A typical system includes:

Fire agent cylinder
Electrical manual release button
Expellant gas cartridge
Pneumatic actuator
Solenoid valve with automatic starting bottle
Discharge pipes and hoses
Pneumatic manual starting cartridge
Fixed nozzles
Heat-detection cable
Check valves, connectors and brackets
24V control panel
Fire alarm
The automatic starting bottle, manual starting cartridge and expellant gas cartridge perform different functions within the activation sequence.

How The System Works
Automatic Activation:
The heat-detection cable is installed around selected fire-risk areas.
When the cable reaches its rated activation temperature, it sends a signal to the control panel. The panel energizes the solenoid valve and opens the automatic starting bottle.
The released starting pressure operates the pneumatic actuator, which opens the separate expellant gas cartridge. Propellant gas then enters the fire agent cylinder and drives the extinguishing agent through the fixed pipes and nozzles. The system can also activate an alarm and send an engine-shutdown signal.
Electrical Manual Activation:
The operator can press the manual release button on the control panel.
This follows the same solenoid-controlled starting sequence as automatic activation.
Pneumatic Manual Activation:
An independent pneumatic manual actuator can be installed inside the cab or outside the vehicle.
When operated, the manual starting cartridge releases pressure directly to the pneumatic actuator. The actuator opens the expellant gas cartridge and initiates agent discharge.

FAQ
No. It is a cartridge-operated system. A separate expellant gas cartridge pressurizes the fire agent cylinder during activation.
No. The detection cable sends a signal to the control panel. The control panel activates the solenoid starting circuit, which ultimately opens the expellant gas cartridge.
The system supports electrical manual activation through the control panel and independent pneumatic manual activation.
The control panel can provide a fault alarm when the detection cable is disconnected or damaged. The pneumatic manual starting device provides an independent manual activation method.
The listed options are dry chemical and ColdFire.
Yes. Multiple nozzles and multi-cylinder configurations can be designed according to the machine layout and agent requirement.
The control panel can provide a fault alarm when the detection cable is disconnected or damaged. The pneumatic manual starting device provides an independent manual activation method.
Capacity depends on the protected hazards, agent type, machine layout, nozzle quantity and discharge-pipe arrangement
