1. How Wet Chemical Stainless Steel ClassK Fire Extinguisher works?
The "chemical" element of a wet chemical fire extinguisher is potassium, which has two ways to effectively attack the flame:
First, the mist cools the flame and lowers the temperature to prevent the fire from spreading while preventing hot oil/fat splashing.
Second, the potassium salt reacts with the hot oil and causes a saponification process that coats the surface of the cooking oil or fat in a non-flammable soap foam and acts as a barrier between the fat and the oil.
