Why Does PRI-SAFETY Use the FK-5112 Agent for This Server Rack Fire System?
PRI-SAFETY specifically chose FK-5112 because its properties perfectly align with the critical needs of protecting IT equipment in a confined server rack.
FK-5112 is a type of clean agent fire suppressant. The "FK-5" designation is a classification under the ISO 14526 standard for gaseous fire-fighting agents. It is a chemical compound known as Perfluoro(2-methyl-3-pentanone).
Think of it as a sophisticated, electronically safe, and environmentally responsible replacement for older halon systems.

Targeted Protection for High-Value Assets:
Server racks house extremely expensive and critical hardware. Using a water-based or powder-based system would destroy the very equipment it's meant to save. FK-5112 extinguishes fires without causing collateral damage.
Speed and Effectiveness on Electrical Fires:
The primary fire risk in a server rack is from electrical components (overheating servers, faulty power supplies, short circuits). FK-5112 is exceptionally effective at suppressing Class C (electrical) and Class A (common combustibles like plastics and wire insulation) fires.
Compact System Design:
Because FK-5112 is effective at a relatively low concentration (typically around 4-6% by volume), a smaller amount of agent is needed to flood the enclosed space of a server rack. This allows PRI-SAFETY to design a compact, 1U-high system that fits directly into the rack itself.
Woring Principle
Using a linear temperature sensor and 2 Smoke detectors, it can detect any part inside the cabinet. Dualdetection ensures safer and more effective. The Linear detection cable activation temperature is 85°C.
Any smoke detector detect smoke, the fire system will be activated. And once the temperature reach 85°Cthe linear detection cable will activate the fire system too.At the same time the fire alarm(siren&light) start and spraying. Automatically stops after spraying.
After activation need refill the fire agent and replace the detection cable. Easy maintanence and Effective.
The Device accept 110v~240v Power, suitable for different power standard, and with the backup battery.

Key Components of the Rack Fire System:
1. Detection Components
Linear Heat Detection Tube (LHDT):
A flexible, small-diameter (often red) tube that is routed throughout the entire protected rack, snaking past all critical equipment like servers, switches, and power supplies.
Function: This is the primary fire detector.
2. Suppression Agent & Storage
FK-5112 Agent Cylinder:
A sealed, pressurized cylinder (typically steel) that contains the liquid FK-5112 clean agent and a nitrogen propellant.
Function: This is the storage vessel for the fire suppressant. It is designed to hold the agent under pressure until the precise moment it is needed for discharge.
3. Activation & Discharge Components
Activation/Release Valve:
A mechanical valve mounted on the agent cylinder.
Function: It is connected to the Linear Heat Detection Tube. The pressure drop from the tube bursting acts as a mechanical trigger, instantly opening this valve to release the agent. This is a purely pneumatic (pressure-based) mechanism, making it very fast and reliable without needing external power.
Discharge Nozzles / Manifold:
A network of pipes and nozzles that distribute the agent.
Function: Once the valve opens, the agent flows through this manifold and is dispersed into the rack enclosure via strategically placed nozzles. These nozzles are designed to ensure the FK-5112 agent vaporizes quickly and fills the entire enclosed volume of the rack uniformly.

4. Control & Indication Components
Control Module / Panel:
The electronic "brain" of the system, usually located on the front of the 1U unit for easy access.
Function: It monitors the system's status (e.g., pressure in the detection tube, agent cylinder pressure) and provides visual and audible alerts. It typically has indicators for Normal, Fault, and Discharge conditions. It can also interface with a building's central fire alarm system.
Manual Release Button:
A prominent, usually protected, button on the control panel or at a nearby accessible location.
Function: Allows personnel to manually trigger the release of the fire suppressant if they see a fire before the automatic system activates.
5. Enclosure & Structural Components
1U Chassis:
The metal housing that contains all the above components in a standard 1U (1.75-inch tall) rack-mountable form factor.
Function: To neatly and securely integrate the entire fire suppression system into the server rack itself, making it a dedicated and self-contained safety solution.
