PRI-SAFETY High Pressure Water Mist Fire Suppression Systems is an advanced and efficient fire suppression technology that combines the effectiveness of water with significantly reduced water usage.
Unlike conventional sprinkler systems, high-pressure water mist systems operate by atomizing water into ultra-fine
droplets-typically less than 100 microns in diameter-using pressures above 80 bar. These fine droplets rapidly absorb heat and displace oxygen in the fire zone, resulting in effective flame suppression, cooling, and limited re-ignition potential.
PRI-SAFETY HP Water Mist Fire System Working Mechanism:
1. Fire Detection and System Activation:
• The system integrates with a fire detection system (such as smoke, heat, or flame detectors).
• Upon detection control panel triggers the high-pressure pump unit.
2. Water Supply and Pump Operation:
•The pump draws water from a dedicated tank or mains supply.
•The water is then pressurized to a high level using a multistage pump.
3.Distribution to Nozzles:
•The pressurized water is delivered through stainless steel piping to strategically located water mist nozzles.
•These nozzles are designed to atomize the water into droplets typically less than 100 microns.
4.Fire Suppression by Water Mist:
When released, the fine mist interacts with the fire in three key ways:
•Heat Absorption: The small droplets rapidly evaporate, absorbing heat and cooling the flame and surrounding gases.
•Oxygen Displacement: The steam generated displaces oxygen around the fire, suppressing combustion.
•Radiant Heat Blocking: The mist forms a thermal barrier, reducing the spread of radiant heat.
5.System Shutdown and Monitoring:
•After suppression, the system can be manually or automatically shut down.
•Sensors and pressure switches continuously monitor the system's performance and integrity.
