Detection Tube Automatic Gas Fire Extinguishing System helps to protect vehicle engine compartments and vastly reduces the risk of fire spreading to other parts of the vehicle.
The system automatically chokes the flames without the need of human intervention. The system design is simple but efficient and very cost effective. Automatic protection when you need it, day in day out.
The system consists of a heat sensitive tube which is sealed at either end with stainless steel fittings.
The tube acts not only as a storage medium,but also as a fire detector.
Therefore there is no requirement for a separate cylinder containing fire agent. The tube is unaffected by temperatures of up to 120 Degrees Centigrade but fire is of course much hotter and will cause the tube to burst, immediately extinguishing any nearby flames.
The detection tube is filled with FM200 which is an extremely effective, clean and people-safe extinguishing medium. The fire protection fluid which is almost odourless discharges as a liquid instantly dispersing in the form of a gas and leaves no residue. Importantly the fluid itself does not conduct electricity or cause thermal shock damage. It is therefore perfectly safe to use on electrical fires and won't damage your engine.
FM200 is more effective in an under bonnet fire scenario than either powder or foam, and you get the additional benefit that after use there is no agent residue and consequently none of the cleanup cost associated with foam and powder.
The system requires no maintenance during its entire working life. It can be installed by any competent individual, and thus no training is required for installation.
